Government spending in Canada has crossed $1 trillion for the first time, published Statistics Canada. In 2020, the total spending was $1.07 trillion.

This was a 33.4 percent raise over the previous year and the most significant increase in government spending ever recorded in Canada. This was mainly due to their handling of the Covid-19 crisis.
